Love Spells from 21 to 60- Are we all Looking for the same kind of Love?

Lately, I’ve noticed something moving quietly through the collective. Everywhere I look, witches are lighting candles, whispering names, and stirring jars filled with love magic. I’ve seen it in witches barely in their twenties, and in practitioners who’ve lived through every kind of love imaginable. It’s become clear to me, we’re all in the same current… A love spell epidemic.

Maybe it’s the season, maybe it’s Venus stirring in the background again, but it feels like the air has some honey, cinnamon and rose oil lately.

There’s a woman I’ll call Kate, she’s sixty six. Her energy is calm, peaceful & patient. She’s not chasing a soulmate, she’s asking for companionship, at least that’s what she told me the other day while walking her trio of senior pups. She craves someone to share time with, to talk to, to sit next to, other than her four legged babes.

Kate took it upon herself to give me my main thought for the rest of the week and said “Maybe love wants, change like we do when we age, When you’re young you want something heated and passionate, but when you’re my age you just want something that’s there to keep you warm" Her words scorched through my mind for days.

Then there’s a twenty one year old I met recently on a trip to my local botanica. Gold jewelry wearing, protected head to toe , cinnamon oil on her pulse points, which she happily shared, and full of life. She wants love that’s passionate, the kind that shakes things up and makes her feel alive but comfortable and safe. Unlike her “Grandpa Energy Draining Ex” whom she made quite clear she despises and will continue to hex every new moon.

Very different ages and experiences , but the same intention & desire. Both just want to feel the heat of love’s flame and have genuine companionship.

I realized somewhere in between them is where most of us live, still trying to find the balance between wanting the fire and needing the warmth. We talk about love like it’s this huge mystery, but I think it’s just a reflection of whatever we’re craving most at the moment and that changes with time.

So whether you’re twenty one or sixty six, whether you want fire or quiet warmth, maybe the point of all these spells isn’t to get love, it’s to stay open to it, and appreciate it at every age.

Because no matter the age or the spell, the truth is the same

we all just want to be seen, understood, and loved for who we are.
